When California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) embarked on the first major capital campaign in its 60-year history, we joined forces with the university to develop branding strategy and design materials to raise $11 million for a new Science and Innovation Building. CSUDH provides a world-class college education for underserved communities and this state-of-the-art building will be a catalyst for change for students, educators and families across the region. The school could no longer afford to be the best kept secret in Los Angeles and we were honored to be part of the cause to raise the university profile.
Our work began by conducting interviews with alumni, professors and students to understand the necessity of improving education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) from local public schools to the university. We designed the campaign around a bold statement that called for community activism: THIS IS YOUR UNIVERSITY. With vibrant close-up portraits and inspirational quotes the campaign drove alumni and business leaders to take ownership and support the next generation of STEM innovators. It was a special day when we attended the groundbreaking celebration and the campaign was launched across the entire campus with brochures, messaging and a new website.
